The iPhone battery replacement program, which Apple rolled out beginning of this year after customers accused the company to deliberately slowing down the older model phones is finally coming to an end.
In Malaysia, the iPhone battery replacement currently is priced at RM121 throughout this whole year. Beginning of next year, the battery replacement will cost you RM369. You can also set an appointment via Apple’s support page.
The battery replacement program covers the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone SE. The program was also extended to the newer iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X until 31st December 2018. The latest iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR are not eligible.
To find out if your battery is faulty and needs replacement, there is a way to check your battery performance. Go to Settings > Battery, and you will find a new ”Battery Health” section. You can see your current battery’s maximum capacity and it will tell you if your battery is under performing and needs a replacement.
